We spent Sunday morning at church and then spent the rest of the day at the Esplanade lagoon park. There really isn't a good beach near the part of Cairns that we were in and besides that we were there during Stinger Season meaning it wasn't safe to be in the ocean just off the shore anyway. Cairns has a public pool and park though that is really close to the ocean but cleaner and free of "stingers" (or jellyfish as we are used to them being called). We mostly just layed out in the grass, got our feet wet in the pool, made sandcastles with Maxwell (one side of the pool had the softest sand ever that led into it because of the lack of beach), and had a BBQ. It was a nice relaxing day.
The boardwalk along the beach was cool, but obviously the beach was really lame. The tide was also really really low whenever we were there but oh well!
Yum!
Fun in the Sun!
It's all about the presentation
Another boardwalk pic.
More beautiful presentation.
